Ivona Tau’s The Late Memories of the Algorithm, the Beauty of Forgetting recognizes the ways in which decaying states of memory liberate the present from the past. In this work, Tau pulls from several of her previous AI/GAN models to achieve a representation that spans across her personal experiences.

Dr. Ivona Tau is a generative A.I. artist from Vilnius, Lithuania, who works with neural networks and code as a medium in experimental photography and motion painting. Her goal is to find and evoke emotions through artificially intelligent tools. She creates universally relatable memories by transforming her experiences captured on analog and digital film through generative neural networks (GANs).
