Georgia Tucker is an artist, extended reality designer and environmental activist. Utilising virtual reality and physical installations, Tucker’s practice draws attention to environmental concerns by modelling complex spaces, materiality and ecologies as digital experiences; relying on a collaboration with the viewer.
Georgia Tucker is an artist, extended reality designer and environmental activist, currently studying MA Fine Art at Birmingham School of Art. Utilising virtual reality and physical installations, Tucker’s practice draws attention to environmental concerns by modelling complex spaces, materiality and ecologies as digital experiences; relying on a collaboration with the viewer.
Her recent projects Conniveo and Terra Firma have been exhibited and screened at: Stryx, Birmingham; United Nations Oceans Week with the Explorer’s Club, New York; Aesthetica Short Film Festival, York (2020); the Coventry Biennial, Coventry; and Orleans House Gallery, Richmond (2019).
She is an artist in residence with The Immersive Kind and was selected to participate in the Hotel Generation programme with Arebyte Gallery in 2020. She has been commissioned by BBC Arts and Arts Council England for their New Creative scheme with Rural Media; and collaborated with Hoare Lea LLP. In 2019 she was awarded the Gertrude Emily Griffin Award for Environmental Art; and was shortlisted for the Sustainability First Art Prize in 2020, and will be showcasing Conniveo in Bermondsey and at the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth, in 2021.
